CAE DESIGN ANALYSIS

Ray Design Limited has experience in the following areas: FEA structural design and optimisation (linear and non linear), CFD fluid flow, CFD thermal management design of electronics, flow to stress multi physics, thermal to stress multi physics, fatigue, large assembly modelling, weld analysis, buckling, frequency (to stress / displacement), dynamics, ballistic, crash testing and shock analysis. What matters is what we do with the results to optimise the design.
The example shown in the images is a cannon ball projected into a concrete wall (explict material). The damage on the cast iron cannon ball was assessed using the Mohr Coulumb theory.
We offer the service of comparison of CAE simulations with product qualification tests. We aim for a 5% accuracy in a simulation to the physical test of a product based on the simulation model set up.
DETAILED DESIGN
Over 20 years experience in detailing designs and producing technical drawings to BS 308 / BS 8888 / ASME Y14.5.

We are able to perform tolerance analysis, also applying geometric tolerances suited to your product bearing in mind the cost.
Modern techniques like Design for X, poka yoke, DFMEA, root cause analysis, lean six sigma can be applied in the design process so you can have confidence your product is fit for purpose and a market leader.
REVERSE ENGINEERING
If you require a 3D model or drawings of existing products where the information doesn't exist Ray Design Limited can be assistance.
We use experience of manufacturing processes, materials, design for manufacture, measuring equipment, and 3D scanning to provide accurate replication of engineering 2D / 3D CAD files and technical drawings of existing products. We can also optimise your current engineering product with your organisational requirements whether that be cost reduction, design improvements or removal of product design and manufacturing mistakes.
